WORD-SPACES
MATERIALITY
Materiality is about word-spaces—a collection of my observations on how our evolving ways of living shape the environments around us.
This work explores how design vocabulary influences the spaces we live and work in, bridging the gap between language and spatial experience. It envisions a world where workplaces blend with café culture, homes merge with hotel comforts, and design becomes a reflection of identity. Through this evolving ‘wordscape,’ we uncover the material essence of the terms that define our spaces and the innovative ideas shaping our experiences within them.
I document my observations of the ever-evolving design vocabulary, drawing insights from readings and conversations to examine the nuances in communication that reflect cultural values in space design. This exploration addresses our changing needs for daily space configurations, enhances lifestyles, shapes identities, and promotes sustainable practices. It fosters innovation and ideation in design, enabling deeper engagement with the environments we inhabit.
